Allegany College of Maryland faculty, staff, and students,
and other adults in the community
may borrow the following materials:
Books - U.S. Government Publications - Audio Cassettes - Compact Discs - College Catalogs - Pamphlets - Videotapes - Annual Reports - Magazines
The normal borrowing period for most items is two weeks.
Videotapes normally circulate for two days.
High school students may borrow a total of five items. The student must be accompanied by an adult who will check out the material or present a letter on school stationery signed by an instructor or school librarian who will assume responsibility for material which the student borrows. There must be a statement in the letter that addresses the fact that the instructor will assume responsibility for the material.
Material reserved at the circulation desk by faculty for student use may be classified as closed reserve (library use only), overnight reserve, or two-day reserve.
You are responsible for all library materials checked out with your library card. Please do not lend your library card to others or check out material for other people.
The library card is valid for approximately two years. We will exchange your old card for a new one without fee when it expires.

Grades and transcripts will be withheld until all library obligations are cleared.
The Library Online Catalog displays materials available at the Allegany College of Maryland Library. These include books, magazines, videos, and other non-print materials. Items can be accessed at the main search screen by SUBJECT, TITLE, AUTHOR, SERIES, CALL NUMBER, or NOTES.

*SKS WebSelect Links to web sites for general reference that have been
carefully selected on the basis of accuracy, authority, and usefulness.
· Viewpoint articles, contextual topic overviews, government and organizational statistics, biographies of social activists, court cases, profiles of government agencies and special interest groups, newspaper and magazines articles, and links to more than 1,400 reviewed and subject-indexed web sites on various social issues.

ProQuest Nursing Journals - Including leading nursing and related publications, this database is designed to meet the needs of researchers at health-care facilities as well as students enrolled in nursing programs at academic institutions. Coverage: 1988-present.
· Photos, text, audio, and graphics from AP (Associated Press)
· Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature. Provides
indexing and abstracting for over 1,600 current nursing and allied health
journals and other publications dating back to 1982, and contains over
700,000 records.
· Remote access for off-campus users is available through the Maryland
