Admission as an International Student Allegany College of Maryland has been approved through the U.S. Department of Justice, the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) for the acceptance of F-1 academic and/or language students. The Director of Admissions and Registration, Ms. Cathy Nolan, is the College's designated school official and will keep information and documentation on each student and will furnish reports to the INS upon request. Reporting information includes the student's Form I-20 ID, the country of origin, address and telephone number in the United States, status, i.e., full-time or part-time, course load, date of commencement of studies, date of expected completion, and termination date and reason. Students who complete the application for admission, must also provide TOEFL (the Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores of at least 550, a financial statement of means certified by a financial institution, and documentation of health insurance. International students who have attended other institutions of higher education and wish to transfer credit to the College must provide official documents that include both the transcript and an official evaluation of foreign education credentials.
