MARION S. LEONARD SCHOLARSHIP FOR MIND-BODY-WELLNESS LEADERSHIP
$1,000 per year ($500 per semester) Deadline: September
15, 2006
Requirements:
Full- or part-time student
No residency requirement
Have at least a 3.0 GPA
Have been accepted into an allied health program; or have
completed at least one course for the Integrative Health Letter
of Recognition; or have completed credit, CE, or other programs
that focus on mind-body-wellness skills
This award will be available to credit or CE students who
have demonstrated an interest in integrative health and/or mind-body-wellness
medicine and who desire to further develop mind body skills
that stress personal awareness, with focus on self-acceptance,
compassion, authenticity, and self responsibility
The applicant’s essay should address what experiences
or training they have had in this area, as well as how they
plan to take a leadership role that would further the integration
of mind-body-wellness skills into their professional career
with colleagues and patients/clients
Employees (full or part-time) of the Western Maryland Health
System are also eligible to apply Scholarship recipients are
encouraged to work for the Western Maryland Health System upon
graduation
Continuation of Scholarship into second year is possible upon
reapplication and proof of having met criteria
HEART SPEAK SPIKER-WALBERT SCHOLARSHIP
$500 per year ($250 per semester) Deadline: April
30, 2007
Requirements:
Full-time student
Must be a U.S. citizen/permanent resident
No residency requirement
Have at least a 3.0 GPA
Be enrolled in a health career program including Human Service
(Integrative Health)
The applicant’s essay should address why they are applying
for the scholarship award and how they will use creative writing
and visual art in their coursework and profession
Student must have taken or plan to take an art, creative writing,
or integrative health course
DARLENE JONES INTEGRATIVE HEALTH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
$500 per year ($250 per semester) Deadline: April
30, 2007
Requirements:
Full-time student
Must be a U.S. citizen/permanent resident
No residency requirement
Have at least a 2.5 GPA
Preference will be given to students who have been accepted
in, enrolled, and/or who have completed the clinical phase of
an Allied Health, Human Service, or Social Work transfer curriculum
with the intention of completing the Integrative Health Letter
of Recognition
At a minimum, students must have enrolled in or plan to enroll
in the Integrative Approaches to Health and Healing course (IH
114)
