I have been teaching at Allegany College of Maryland since

August of 2001.  Prior to this teaching position with the

College, I taught with several West Virginia public school

systems as a classroom teacher, a special educator, and

a reading specialist.  I can honestly say that I looked forward

to each and every day in the classroom.  I received a tremendous

amount of personal and professional satisfaction from working

with children, particularly those who were “at-risk” or had

special needs.  It was a very difficult decision for me to

“leave the kids behind” to begin work at the College.  However,

I now find that working with young adults who are going to be

teachers is just as rewarding!
