NURSING PROGRAM
The Nursing
programs at Allegany College offer a two-year career program that qualifies
a student to apply for an Associate in Science degree and a one-year career
program that qualifies a student to apply for a Certificate in Practical
Nursing. Both programs are designed to enable students to take the NCLEX
(National Council Licensing Examination) for Practical or Registered Nursing
and seek employment at the program's completion.

ACCREDITATION
The Associate Degree Nursing Program is approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing and the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, (NLNAC) 61 Broadway, 33rd floor, New York, NY 10006. Phone (212) 363-5555.


CLINICAL AFFILIATIONS
Throughout the course of the nursing program students are placed in various
clinical sites. Students are in the clinical setting approximately 1400
hours over the course of four semesters under the supervision of a nursing
faculty member.
The student/faculty ratio is 8-10:1.
