Distance Learning Outreach Programs
Another option is to complete a
BS degree program through distance learning. Many of our graduates have successfully
transferred their Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology to a
University where they completed a BS degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
in a distance learning format. The two
most popular options that our graduates have utilized to advance their
education have been the
University
of
Louisiana
at
Monroe
and the more recently the
University

Cincinnati
.
Outreach Programs
include:
The
University
of
Cincinnati
is a fully NAACLS accredited program. The
program is designed for MLTs working full time as a
laboratory technicians.
Students in the
distance learning program complete courses sequentially via the course web
site. Courses are conducted online. Typically, students should anticipate
studying about 20 hours per week to ensure completion of each course on time.
At the conclusion of the requisite courses, students will complete clinical
experiences in a clinical laboratory near their home.
Many of our graduates are choosing the
University
of
Cincinnati
to continue their
education. The convenience is not limited to the distance learning format. Our graduates that are Certified through
NCA or ASCP simply start the
CLS
course
sequence without needing to take additional general education courses like
organic chemistry.
