
High School Applicants:
Can apply to the MLT program as a clinical phase student or
as a pre-clinical phase student to either the MLT traditional or Biotechnology
options.
The clinical phase is for students who wish to complete the
full-time sequence of courses.
Students may choose to complete the program as a part-time
student. A part-time student can select "Pre-MLT"
curriculum on the College Application.
How to apply for direct admission
(clinical phase) and pre-clinic phases of the MLT Program:
STEP # 1
Determine
Eligibility
| Complete 1 year of high school chemistry,
biology, and algebra (or their equivalent) with minimum grade of "C" in each
course |
A minimum composite score on the ACT of 18 with
no less than a 16
in each area. (The SAT can be converted to
an ACT score.) |
| Pass the Allegany College Placement Test or
successfully complete all required developmental courses before
the first college courses |
STEP # 2
Fill out the Allegany
College of Maryland application and select the appropriate program
number to be considered for admission into
your program of study.

Pre-clinical phase of the program is for students who wish to be
part-time students or for those not completely eligible. Pre-phase students
work on completing prerequisite general education courses prior to acceptance
into the MLT program. These students are acknowledged as working
on degree requirements, but are not officially in the MLT program.

STEP # 3
Submit high school transcript and ACT scores.
STEP # 4
Take the Allegany College placement test. Students must
pass the test or take the development coursework needed
prior to beginning the "clinical phase."
Everyone is accepted into the "pre-clinic" category as soon
as the college application is complete and until admissions into the fall
semester is completed (usually in April).
Students may be accepted into the "pre-clinic" category
