ACCREDITATION

Allegany College of Maryland is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and by the Maryland Higher Education Commission. It is empowered by the Maryland Higher Education Commission to grant the Associate Degree.

The College is a member of the American Council on Education, the American Association of Community Colleges, the Junior College Council of the Middle Atlantic States, the Maryland JUCO Athletic Conference, and the National Junior College Athletic Association.

The Therapeutic Massage Program is accredited by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA). COMTA is recognized by the US Department of Education to accredit massage therapy programs.

APPROVAL: Accreditation is a voluntary process that identifies and acknowledges educational programs and/or institutions for achieving and maintaining a level of quality, performance, and integrity that meets meaningful standards.

Graduates of COMTA accredited programs are eligible to sit for the State of Maryland Jurisprudence exam.
