NURSING ASSISTANT/GERIATRIC AIDE

Definition:
Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistants are practitioners that provide basic nursing care to patients under the direct supervision of a nurse. They are able to perform delegated nursing duties in an acute care facility or home care situation.

Description:
Certified Nursing Assistant/Geriatric Aide Training consists of classroom and laboratory competency-based courses of study designed to prepare the student for employment in an acute care or long term care facility. This course is approved through the State of Maryland and the Maryland Board of Nursing. This training package prepares completers to sit for the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program.
