ACM Forestry: Work Hard, Study Hard, Play Hard!

Lumberjack Team

Logging and Forest Inventory

* Forestry Technology students must take an eight-week summer program. This program is conducted entirely outdoors. During the first half of the course students gain experience surveying, mapping, and evaluating forests. The remainder of the course is spent felling trees and operating heavy equipment, such as a skidder. Students learn how to conduct an environmentally-friendly timber harvest.

Field Studies

In addition, the science Department offers a two-week enviromental investigations elective course in which the students visit a different region of North America and learn about different ecosystems, resource management and cultural issues.
