Communication Arts is a challenging, two year program focusing on various fields in the communications industry, including photography, television, audio production, graphic design, digital photography, multi-media, and journalism. Graduates go on to become producers, directors, graphic designers, photographers, and assume other roles within the media profession. Presently the program is designed as a two-year curriculum, resulting in an Associate in Applied Science degree and utilizing a blend of lecture and laboratory experience within the multimedia center that includes a television studio and control room, darkroom, multimedia classroom, graphic production area, and audio production facility. Students learn the basics of what goes on in a television studio, the mechanics of broadcast writing, camera technique, the application of the computer in the media profession, and the history and future of the media.
