GENERAL STUDIES

The General Studies curriculum serves a threefold function: (1) to enable the student to explore the general areas of higher education and to help him/her to determine a major field of concentration; (2) to serve as a curriculum which, through the wise selection of elective courses, can be adapted to fit specific requirements of a particular four-year college to which the student desires to transfer; and (3) to serve students as a career curriculum if the student does not plan to continue in a four-year college program.

Successful completion of this program qualifies a student for an Associate in Science degree in General Studies.

Note: Students must work closely with their advisor in selecting appropriate elective courses.
