ACOM's Admissions Page

 

Simple Application Process

1. Complete the ADMISSIONS APPLICATION.
You may submit a paper application or you may click here to submit your application through the internet.
THERE IS NO APPLICATION FEE.

2. Please provide us with your FINAL OFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT or GED.
Please have your high school mail us your FINAL, OFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT.

If you did not graduate from high school, then we would need a copy of your GED or EXTERNAL HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA.

3. If you have ATTENDED COLLEGE and you wish to be a full-time, degree-seeking student at ACM, we will need OFFICIAL copies of your TRANSCRIPT(S) from EACH COLLEGE or UNIVERSITY that you attended.

4. Take our PLACEMENT TEST.

In CUMBERLAND - The test is given on Mondays from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.
All on Tuesdays - Fridays from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Please contact our Student Success Center at 301-784-5554 to schedule your test.

In BEDFORD - The test is given Monday - Friday at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. by appointment. Please contact Mary Ann Clark at 814-652-9528 x6204 to schedule your test.

In SOMERSET - Please contact Tiffany Boone at 814-445-9848 x6104 to schedule your test.

The placement test for English may be waived if:
     - you have recently taken the SAT and scored 500 or higher in writing, OR
     - you have recently taken the ACT and scored 18 or higher in English, OR
     - you have completed three (3) college level credits of English.

The placement test for math may be waived if:
     - you have recently taken the SAT and scored 500 or higher in math, OR
     - you have recently taken the ACT and scored 18 or higher in math, OR
     - you have completed three (3) college level credits of math.

The placement test for reading may be waived if:
     - you have recently taken the SAT and scored 500 or higher in reading, OR
     - you have recently taken the ACT and scored 18 or higher in reading, OR
     - you have completed three (12) credits of general education transfer courses.

You will need to provide any official copy of your SAT/ACT scores and college transcripts to the Admissions Office (in the College Center) BEFORE you can register for classes.

5. Mail your transcripts to our Admissions Office at the main campus in Cumberland.

You may expect to receive an acceptance letter within two to three weeks of submitting your application.
