Dr. Keith Eshleman
Head Soccer Coach
Allegany College of Maryland Athletic
Director Bob Kirk has announced that Dr. Keith Eshleman has been named head
soccer coach for this fall. He
becomes the 5th coach in ACM’s 39 years of varsity soccer.
Dr. Eshleman is a Professor at the
University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, Appalachian Laboratory,
based in Frostburg. He received his
Bachelor’s Degree from the
University
of
Virginia
(1978) and his Master (1982) and Doctorate degrees (1985) from the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr.
Eshleman has received numerous awards for his research and just recently
returned from
Austria
where he gave a presentation on water resources management.
During his years at the
University
of
Virginia
, Dr. Eshleman played on the UVA soccer team. He
was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference Honor Roll for Academic Achievement
all four years. He has played in
many adult leagues since his collegiate career.
Dr. Eshleman has been active with the youth leagues in the Frostburg area
for many years.
According Kirk, “We believe Keith is going to be a
great asset to our soccer program. He
is enthusiastic, knows the game, and is an excellent communicator.
We are looking forward to his leadership in continuing to build our
soccer program.
